I will be leading the creation of the Disc Golf Course on 295. We will be designing the course over the winter of 2012 and hope to construct it over the spring and summer. We will be starting fundraising soon. The course will be paid for by donations (DisCap, the Capital District Disc Golf Club is a 501-c-3 charity) and business sponsorships. It costs about $500 per hole. That pays for a basket, cement tee, and a sign. The more money we raise the more amenities the course can have. I can be contacted at taxskill@gmail.com or 518-365-3157. The more volunteers we have the better! Check out the club website for all the local disc golf happenings www.discap.net

We are still continuing to fund raise for the bowl. We decided to at least get the street portion built even tho we still hadn't raised the full amount for the entire project. We hope to have the bowl built in late spring.

Thank you! We continue to work hard to raise funds to finish the park and add the pool section. We will keep our site
up to date as things progress.

I just heard about this skate park, and I think this is a fantastic addition to the town. Being someone who used to skateboard in competitions in Saratoga Springs NY as a kid, I can attest to how much skate parks add to the community, and I'm thrilled to see Chatham (my newly adopted home) building one.

Is there any talk or idea about having skate competitions during the summer? I'm sure we could get local businesses to sponsor the event, and maybe get prizes donated from local skateboard businesses or donations. I'd also be happy to help try to secure donations or even help judge competitions if it were so desired.

I'm truly excited that Chatham has become one of the towns that, instead of shunning and criminalizing its skateboarders, has instead seen the benefit and creativity in skateboarding and provided them with an outlet.
